Nutrition Education in UK Medical Schools: A qualitative study of attitudes, barriers and facilitators

All Master's students at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine must carry out a piece of academic research during the summer months. As a future medical student and current nutrition student, I decided to focus my research on the provision of nutrition education at UK medical schools. The nutrition knowledge and skills of doctors (or lack thereof) have been given significant media attention in recent years from the likes of Channel 4 and the BBC. Fortunately, we have started to see major progress thanks to the likes of Culinary Medicine UK, the NNEDPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health and the student-led organisation Nutritank.

I was thrilled to gain a 'Merit' grade on this research, which helped me achieve an overall Merit grade in the MSc Nutrition for Global Health. Below you can find the Abstract, and a link to the full research which is free to download/ open as a pdf.
